Concepts Wing Chun has been established since 2002 and is dedicated to promoting quality Wing Chun tuition, self defence training, personal safety and personal fitness training for the general public and organisations.
With the ever growing need for people to become healthier, fitter and to protect themselves or their family, Concepts provides relevant training in a relaxed, friendly and professional environment!
The Wing Chun that is coached at Concepts is a solid, practical martial art that works and is trained and tested under pressure to ensure quality and good results.
Concepts is a non tradtional Wing chun Gung fu club thus avoiding Political dramas & dogma!
I do not condone violence, anger or aggressive behaviour, there is enough aggression in the world without my encouragement. So sessions are open to all who would like to participate in a martial art, to become a healthier person in mind and body, and to bring out your best in a positive environment!

I have been studying,training Wing Chun for over 20 years, both in the UK and Australia. I have been fortunate enough to train with quality teachers / masters who have shared their knowledge with me over the years. This includes 4 years training contemporary Wing chun with the National Wing Chun Association, full time study in Sydney, Australia at the Jim Fung Academy of Wing Chun, personal training with Alan Gibson (Wing Chun Federation) and seminar training with Nino Bernardo in London & Ibiza. I regularly update my personal training and knowledge to keep me well informed and to add to my skill set.
Being a keen traveller I have spent over 5 years living abroad and touring countries such as India, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Malaysia, trekking in the Himalayas (Nepalese region), the Sierra Nevada (Spain) and mountains of Turkey. I now use this experience and knowledge to run courses advising people on safe travel prior to their trips abroad.
In the early 1990’s I served as a Territorial Soldier in the R.E.M.E. participating in many outward bound activities including climbing, abseiling and canoeing and mountain craft; leaving the forces to travel and live abroad.
I worked as a British military fitness instructor in Brighton and Hove for 4years, organising and running cardio / strength and conditioning sessions.
I am a qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor and have studied Sports Therapies and Injury Prevention at the Australian College of Natural Therapies, Sydney. This has allowed me to provide a personal training element to my business offering one-to-one health, fitness and defence sessions for clients.
